A 23-year-old man in Korça, who was supposed to remain under house arrest, has been arrested by police after several hours of pursuit, after allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old man during a conflict.
The incident occurred in neighborhood no. 4 of the city of Korça, where the young man, identified by the initials RI, is suspected of stabbing 19-year-old MA in the leg. The latter is receiving treatment in hospital and is out of danger.
After being notified of the incident, the services of the Korça Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Narcotics Section, organized checks to identify and capture the suspect, who was arrested after several hours of searching.
During a search of the 23-year-old's apartment, police found and seized the knife suspected of being used in the conflict, a quantity of cannabis, and a pistol-shaped object.
The verifications showed that the young man was under the security measure "House Arrest", previously assigned for the criminal offenses "Intentional Serious Injury" and "Production and Sale of Narcotics".
The procedural materials have been referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action, while he is suspected of the criminal offenses of "Intentional minor injury", "Unlicensed production and possession of cold weapons", "Unlicensed production and possession of sporting weapons", "Removal of a prisoner from his place of residence" and "Production and sale of narcotics".
