A group of friends vacationing at a resort in the Philippines were left in a state of panic after discovering a king cobra hiding inside the toilet of their hotel room. The incident occurred at a resort in Salvador Benedicto, inside the Negros Occidental National Park. According to reports by The Sun, the five friends were staying at the resort when one of them went into the bathroom and noticed something unusual in the toilet water.

At first, he thought the toilet hadn't flushed properly, after seeing a dark object in the water. But after the flush was pulled again, the group was horrified when a snake's head emerged from the pipes. A video posted on social media shows the moment one of the vacationers carefully lifts the toilet lid and tries to pull the reptile out with the help of a long stick. A few seconds later, the snake emerges and stands in front of the person filming, while sticking out its tongue.

One of the guests, Dranreb Teodoso, told The Sun that no one initially believed their friend, who panicked and ran out of the bathroom screaming about the snake. He then used a stick to check if the reptile was still alive and immediately notified hotel staff. At first, the group thought it was a harmless water snake. But after the video was posted on online groups of reptile experts, they were informed that the reptile was suspected to be a king cobra, one of the most dangerous venomous snakes in the world.

Local authorities said similar cases of king cobras have been reported in the Salvador Benedicto area before. Inspector Gina Gerangaia said they are investigating the possibility that the snake may have escaped from illegal captivity. Authorities said high temperatures in the area may have prompted the reptile to seek cooler places to hide.

Meanwhile, investigations into the incident have officially begun.
