DP MP Saimir Korreshi raised the alarm regarding the situation at the Lushnja hospital and the safety of oxygen cylinders at the Lushnja Regional Hospital.

Following Korresh's statement, the hospital reacted, saying that the documentation cited by the MP refers to the period before December 31, 2024, and there have been no recorded incidents that endanger patients or employees.

This morning, Korreshi shared a video of himself in the hospital courtyard. He said that while it is claimed that everything is within technical conditions, the footage shows something completely different.

"Good morning, here we are in the Emergency Room, which they said is within the technical conditions. Order the toilet, urinal, everything within the technical conditions. Now we are waiting for the director who said the technical conditions. We are waiting for the director to come at 8 o'clock," he says.

"The oxygen department does not have a formal position of responsibility in the organization; for organizational needs, a technical employee with appropriate education has been assigned, according to the institution's practices.
Fire extinguishers are installed and functional, while oxygen cylinders are supplied by the contracting operator, who is responsible for their technical condition. The Ministry emphasizes that to date there have been no technical failures or explosions.

Also, the relocation of the wards as part of the reconstruction was carried out according to an approved plan, respecting technical standards and with the knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

"The hospital management emphasizes that it remains committed to the safety of patients and employees, and is open to any verification by the competent authorities," the statement to the Health media states.
