The MP of the Opportunity Party, Erald Kapri, has made strong accusations against the government regarding the law on tourist ports, describing it as a completely clientelist initiative and dangerous for the economy.
Invited to "This Week" IN News24, Kapri stated that the law paves the way for strategic investors, but essentially constitutes a "custom law" that favors a limited number of individuals.
He criticized the lack of an open and transparent competition, stressing that in a normal situation there should be a clear strategy for tourism development and fair competition for investors. He raised concerns that foreign investors may be forced to negotiate directly with Prime Minister Edi Rama, calling this practice scandalous.
"Corrupt law. Do you know how many articles it had? One article. The article said that the Council of Ministers decides who will build tourist ports in Albania, with the conditions that it assesses, it is a custom-made law for 2 or 3 people. In a normal situation when a strategy for the development of tourism could be made, a competition opens for this thing. Foreign investors should come knocking on Rama's door and make a deal with him? This is scandalous. The precedent that is created is that the prime minister decides who gets poorer and who gets richer in this country," he said.
