An operation against drug trafficking has led to the arrest of several people.
Italian authorities have cracked down on an Albanian criminal organization operating in drug trafficking. Authorities have intervened in the Magliana and Trullo neighborhoods of Rome.
Investigations have revealed high-level contacts of the syndicate, capable of handling large drug shipments by dealing directly with suppliers in South America for air shipments, with powerful Albanian cartels operating in Northern Italy and with key figures of Roman organized crime and Calabrian clans, Italian authorities announce.
It is also noted that the organization also operated in prostitution trafficking.
So far, 7 arrests have been made and assets worth hundreds of thousands of euros, weapons, ammunition and quantities of drugs have been seized.
