Straightforward as always. Roma coach Gasperini recently spoke about the level of refereeing in Serie A. He goes further, stating that even teams now have strange people on staff who teach players to simulate.
"I also see teams that are starting to have strange people on their staff who come from the world of refereeing, who teach players how to stay on the ground, how to stay when they are touched and wait for the action to end, or when the ball is headed away, to stay down... The game of football should be something fair, in this way it becomes something that is removed from the sport: asking to receive a card, a penalty, an exclusion is far from what happens in all other sports."
"I recently watched rugby... beautiful, for the spirit and sportsmanship. Football? There are very big interests, to get results, there is a need to win. But now something needs to start from the coaches, to try to change a system that is really penalizing for our sport. De Rossi has said something serious: he no longer finds himself in football, in the football he played even as a child and I don't understand why we have to get into such a difficult situation just to steal something...".
