Both Moscow and Kiev know what the American proposals are for resolving the conflict in Ukraine and this plan has both advantages and disadvantages, US President Donald Trump told Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
“This deal has been in the works for a long time. It has its pros and cons. They know what it is,” he said. “He (Zelensky – TASS) knows this better than anyone.”
As he claimed, Zelensky shows a focus on overcoming the conflict. “And I believe that [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin wants to end this. And it should be a good combination,” the White House host said.
However, he said several times that Ukraine receives extraordinary assistance, including military assistance, from the collective West.
"Russia is a great country, a great power. Russia has always been a great fighting force. And I really believe it's ready [for a solution]," Trump said.
He also expressed the opinion that the peoples of Russia and Ukraine will later be able to establish normal relations.
"And there is very little difference between the Russian and Ukrainian people. They can get along well with each other," the president said.
