On August 28, 2015, during a report that was to be prepared by "Gazeta Shqiptare", there was another meeting in the Fushë-Krujë prison. The journalists met Gentian Doda in the prison library, a name that has recently become sensational after the wiretapping that led to the arrest of judge Shkëlqim Miri.

The latter was found with 300 million lekë in his house, which according to police wiretaps, are bribes taken from his work. According to the indictment, on May 23, 2017, Judge Miri received an envelope with 30 thousand euros, while this coincides with the time when his cousin, Kujtim Miri, was in the bar with the people sent by Gentian Doda.

Who is Gentian?
Gentian Doda was extradited from the US to Albania in 2012, accused of the murder of Gazmir Dedja and Asllan Gjoka, an event that occurred in October 1997. Doda and the victim Gazmir Dedja were members of rival groups in Burrel, the conflict between which has continued for many years and with many victims. According to the prosecution, the investigation of the case has resulted in the fact that from 1997 onwards, the cause of the conflict with serious consequences has been the constant clash between the two families.

At least 16 people have been killed in the feud between the two tribes in Mat since 1997. In 2010, the victim's brother, Halil Dedja, was also killed in Tirana, and was found dead at the entrance to the building where he lived. On the day of the 1997 incident, the perpetrator Gentian Doda and the victim Gazmir Dedja had a verbal conflict and then the defendant shot him with an automatic rifle, seriously wounding him. Asllan Gjoka was accidentally killed by the bullets.

Immediately after the crime, the defendant fled Albania and was arrested in 2012 in the United States of America, pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued by the Albanian authorities. After extradition, the defendant requested the reinstatement and review of the sentence previously given to him for this criminal offense. Although he killed two people in '97, Gentian Doda gained freedom only after 5 years in prison.

Meeting in prison
Gentian Doda has an average build and at that time, in August 2015 he had a slightly longer beard. He seemed calm as a guy and was not bothered at all by the presence of strangers. "With a cigar in his mouth and brushes in his hands, Gentian Doda, sentenced to 20 years for a double murder committed in 1997, throws fixed images onto the canvas. We are thus separated in the library building, where prisoners also engage in creativity.
