Former Minister of Energy, Dritan Prifti, passed away today after a serious illness. Even after undergoing intensive treatment in Italy and Germany in recent months, he unfortunately could not fight off leukemia.

Prifti was a member of the Albanian Parliament from 2001 to 2013, while from 2009 to 2010 he also held the position of Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy.

In his last post on Facebook a few days before the elections, he wrote his opinion on voting, in a way supporting the Socialist Party.

Dritan Prifti's last post

Hello dear friends, I had no desire to give any message about the parliamentary elections this time, because whatever I say, I do not do it with enthusiasm. We must again choose the lesser evil from the competing parties. We do not yet have a political alternative that is worth voting for with enthusiasm. Since this is the case, I will respond to my many friends who call and write to me every day to ask for an opinion on which party they should vote for. I do not want to give an opinion on who we should vote for at the national level, because I do not know the candidates, but I will dare to give an opinion about the Fier and Shkodra Regions. In Fier I would vote for the Socialist Party because I know the candidates and the socialists are superior. Numbers 9 and 10 on the SP list that could be in the endangered places are 2 people who deserve to be in Parliament more than anyone else. I have known Gramoz Ruci for more than 30 years as a good friend of my father. An MP with incomparable experience, honest, who has never sought and accepted executive positions. And I have known Xhevit Bush since he was a banker and beyond. His experience as a banker, financier and excellent knowledge of the people's situation, the great difficulties in paying loans and microcredits that are taking the breath away from the people. The new Parliament needs this experience. Someone must think about the banking sector and people in difficulty. For these reasons, in the Fier Region I would vote for the Socialist Party. Of course, I like the fact that Rama managed to make a pre- and post-election agreement with Basha. 100 times better than the co-government with the SMI. As for the Shkoder Region, I would wholeheartedly ask for a vote for Tom Doshi and the Social Democratic Party. I have never known in my life a deputy who does so much for the electorate, who answers the phone to everyone, who spends most of the day with voters for 4 years of his mandate, and not just in the campaign. I consider Toma more than a friend. Criminalized politicians have tried to dirty him, but they have not succeeded. They wanted to deny him the candidacy, they wanted to imprison him after failing to kill him. But Toma continues to move forward. Nothing makes a believer in God as sincere as Toma. For all these reasons and for the patriotism of Shkodra, a fighter like Toma should be in Parliament. Besides this, the people will never close an open door to themselves for their troubles.

My dear friends,

As always, if you listen to my advice, you won't be disappointed.

God bless you and see you soon.

I'm sorry I can't respond to your messages on Facebook because I don't follow it and I don't administer it under my circumstances.

Hugs

The Priest shines
