A routine trip to work turned into a serious fatality on Wednesday morning for 26-year-old journalist Xhesjon Zogu. The young man, who was traveling from the village of Shkretë in Krujës to Tirana, lost his life as a result of a tragic accident that occurred on the Gjolës Bridge, on the Vorë-Fushë Krujë road axis.

The serious incident occurred after a “Benz” vehicle, which was traveling from Rinas in the direction of Fushë-Krujë, allegedly made a wrong overtaking. The vehicle collided head-on with a “Land Rover” vehicle driven by journalist Xhesjon Zogu, which was coming in the opposite direction. The collision was extremely strong, causing extensive material damage to both vehicles.

Emergency services immediately arrived at the scene, but the 26-year-old journalist could not survive the injuries he sustained and died on the way to the hospital. As a result of the collision, the driver of the other vehicle was also injured and was urgently taken to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he is in serious condition. The investigation team is continuing its work to fully clarify the causes of the accident.

The loss of the 26-year-old has shocked public opinion, while behind his figure was a sad family story. Xhesjon Zogu grew up an orphan, after his father was killed 20 years ago. The young man lived alone with his mother who suffers from a serious cancer, while his brother is in prison. Despite these great life trials, Xhesjon chose to move forward and follow his passion for the media, where he worked with dedication on several websites and television stations in the country.
