The Kosovo Assembly voted yesterday evening to form a new government led by Albin Kurti, marking the start of the new governing mandate, known as "Kurti 3".
President Bajram Begaj has congratulated the formation of the new government and Prime Minister Kurti.
“Congratulations to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Prime Minister, Mr. Albin Kurti!
I wish you success in your new mandate, in leading the Government towards progress, development and prosperity for the people of Kosovo.
I express my belief that dedication and cooperation for the benefit of the state and citizens will lead the entire political class of Kosovo in facing the challenges ahead.
"We assure you of our continued fraternal support for your Government and our compatriots," the head of state wrote.
With 66 votes in favor, 49 against and no abstentions, the Assembly yesterday approved the governing cabinet led by Kurti, which will consist of 19 ministries.
This is the third governing mandate led by Kurti, while Kosovo spent about a year without a functional government due to political blockades.
