Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has approved an appeal from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Gholamreza Mohsen-Ejei, to pardon, commute and commute the sentences of individuals convicted of various crimes.

It was reported that the Supreme Leader approved the request of the head of the judiciary to pardon or commute the sentences of 2,108 individuals convicted by general and revolutionary courts, judicial bodies of the armed forces, and state penitentiary institutions.

Gholamreza Mohsen-Ejei requested pardons or reductions in the sentences of these prisoners in a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei on the occasion of the month of Shaban and the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
