UEFA representatives have made their next visit to Albania as part of preparations for the finals of the 2027 U-21 European Championship, where our country will be one of the two organizers of this prestigious competition.

During the four days of inspections, UEFA experts visited the stadiums that will host the tournament matches, focusing on the technical and operational aspects of the organization. The spotlight was on lighting systems, backup generators, security measures and other important elements related to the standards required by UEFA for the hosting of international matches.

The visit began with an inspection of the “Loro Boriçi” stadium in Shkodër, while the delegation then stopped at the “Elbasan Arena”. On the third day of the agenda, UEFA representatives visited the “Air Albania” stadium and the “Arena e Demave”, two facilities where important infrastructure investments are currently being made in order to host the EURO U-21 2027.
During their stay in Tirana, the delegation was closely acquainted with the progress of the works at the "Air Albania" stadium, where the improvement of the field's foundation and the installation of a new hybrid grass carpet are being carried out, according to the highest UEFA standards.

UEFA representatives also closely observed the works underway at the “Arena e Demave”, where the process of replacing the artificial turf with natural grass has begun. This investment includes the removal of the existing surface, the installation of an irrigation system and the creation of a new playing field, which will meet the requirements for organizing international matches.

The next visit confirms the close cooperation between the Albanian Football Association and UEFA in the framework of organizing the finals of the 2027 U-21 European Championship. The Football Federation continues to work to meet all organizational and infrastructural standards, with the aim of Albania successfully hosting one of the most important European youth football events.
