The misuse of public money and the lack of control over the quality of the works will cost Albanian citizens another 930 thousand euros.
The construction of the Lower Burrel Ring Road, a segment of just 960 meters, cost around 1.3 million euros. But just a month after the completion of the works, the road suffered four major collapses, becoming impassable.

After the road was damaged, the Albanian Road Authority stated that it would conduct an in-depth expertise to determine the causes and solution to the problem. But while responsibilities for the initial investment remain unclear, the bill for the state budget increases.

A tender has already been held for the repair of the Burrel Lower Ring Road with a limit fund of 90.3 million lekë, around 930 thousand euros. The winner was announced as the company "2N" sh.pk, with administrator Ndriçim Stojkun, which offered 87 million lekë.

According to expert forecasts, the intervention will include the construction of piles over a length of about 300 meters, to strengthen the track damaged by landslides.
Thus, the total cost of a road just 960 meters long amounts to over 2.2 million euros.

The irony is that the Lower Burrel Ring Road was built to prevent heavy vehicles from passing through the city. But the road, which cost millions of euros, never performed this function for a single day.

While citizens pay another 930 thousand euros for repairs, an answer is needed to the question: Who is responsible for a 1.3 million euro investment that failed just a month after completion?
