The Tirana Municipal Council approved today the proposal of Mayor Veliaj to provide a reward equal to a monthly salary to fire service employees after their commitment to dealing with fires, floods and civil emergencies during this year.
The decision provides that the reward will be received by 189 employees with Fire Service ranks.
One of the most difficult situations that the firefighter has faced has been the fire on Mount Dajti, where the field engagement continued from July 25 to September 10. During this period, the firefighting forces have been kept on constant alert to control, isolate and extinguish the fires.
Interventions have also been carried out in Daias, Priska, the village of Gurë and in the Iba area, while Tirana officers have also been engaged outside the municipality's territory, in the regions of Durrës and Vlora, as part of cooperation between institutions.
The high number of cases and the duration of the situation in Dajt brought a significant operational burden to the fire service.
