An incident at sea was successfully resolved thanks to the intervention of the Vlora Border Police and the Coast Guard.

Two foreign tourists were stranded about 5 miles off the coast, in front of the Bay of Grama, after the sailboat they were sailing on suffered an engine failure. In difficult sea conditions, border forces engaged in a rescue operation that ended with the safe escort of the vessel to the bay of Portopalermo and the extraction of the two foreign citizens in good health.

The Vlora Border Police and the Coast Guard come to the aid of two foreign citizens who were sailing on a sailboat, which had suffered an engine failure and were left in the open sea.

Today, the Vlora Coast Guard received notification that two foreign citizens, on board a vessel located about 5 miles offshore, opposite the Grama Bay, needed assistance.

Immediately after receiving the notification, Border Police services were organized, where the vessel of the Dhërmi Border Police Station headed towards the given coordinates, to enable the localization and assistance to the two citizens, who were also in danger due to the waves. At the same time, the land border patrol kept the sailboat under constant surveillance.

Despite the difficult conditions, after several hours of intervention and in coordination and cooperation with the Coast Guard crew, it was possible to escort the sailboat and its safe passage into the bay of Portopalermo. The two foreign citizens are in good health.
