At least 14 people have been killed and dozens more injured in the latest wave of attacks between Russia and Ukraine, as the war continues with no signs of abating, nearly four and a half years after the Russian invasion began.

Russian authorities said six people were killed in the Belgorod border region as a result of Ukrainian drone strikes. According to regional governor Alexander Shuvaev, five civilians, four women and a teenager, were killed when a drone hit a bus in the town of Shebekino, near the border with Ukraine. The attack also injured 23 people, three of whom are in critical condition.

Later, Shuvaev reported that another Ukrainian attack hit a car wash in the city of Belgorod, causing one casualty and ten injuries.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Russian bombing has caused at least eight deaths and dozens of injuries in several regions of the country.

In Odessa, three people were killed and eight others injured after an attack hit a company building. Regional governor Oleh Kipper released footage from the scene showing destroyed vehicles and firefighters at the scene.

In the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, two people were killed and nine others were injured in the city of Pavlohrad, according to governor Oleksandr Khanza.

Another casualty was reported in Zaporizhia, where nine people were also injured, while in Kramatorsk, in the Donetsk region, Russian shelling left two dead and four injured.

The Kherson regional administration also announced that seven people were injured by a Russian attack in southern Ukraine.

As fighting continues with intensity on both sides of the border, diplomatic efforts to reach a peace agreement remain stalled, leaving the end of the conflict still far away.
