The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Lezha Region, Agron Gjekmarkaj, celebrated his birthday this year in a special way. Instead of a traditional festive atmosphere, he was in the Olympic Park, where he closely followed the process of counting the diaspora votes for the region he represents. His attention was focused on the result, as there was a risk of losing his fourth mandate – a mandate that the DP ultimately managed to retain.

However, his day has not been without surprises. Gjekmarkaj was surprised twice: first by his Democratic colleagues, who surprised him with a congratulatory cake, and then, in an unusual gesture, by representatives of the Socialist Party, who also presented him with a cake with the inscription "100 more Agrons". Gjekmarkaj humorously commented on the presence of the Socialist cake by saying: "Don't poison them."

This birthday, although spent under unusual circumstances, has brought a rare moment of cooperation and sportsmanship between political opponents.
