Journalist Osman Stafa has filed a report with the Elbasan Police after facing an act of intimidation immediately after documenting the extraction of aggregates from the Shkumbin River. According to Stafa, he was in the area to verify residents' complaints regarding the extraction of aggregates from the riverbed. He filmed heavy vehicles extracting gravel from the Shkumbin Riverbed.

The journalist of News24 says that after the filming ended, a vehicle with license plate AB489YZ followed him along the road, cut him off, and forced him to stop.

"I was filming an excavator, which was extracting inert from the Shkumbin River. I recorded 20 seconds of video. After this moment, I get in the car and head for Elbasan. As soon as I get out on the road, a black SUV violently rears up behind me, signaling me to stop with its lights. I continue on the road. The car pulls up on my left side, getting very close to my car. After this moment, the car pulls up in front of me, cutting me off. I back up a few meters with my car and pull out on the right side of the car, continuing on the road. I was followed by that car for about 1 km," he declared.

Regarding the incident, Stafa has filed a report with the Elbasan Police, requesting a full investigation of the case, the identification of the persons who were in the vehicle, and the administration of all evidence. Meanwhile, the journalist also requests that the responsible institutions verify the legality of the documented activity on the Shkumbin River.

Stafa adds that these actions, which resemble mafia acts, do not scare him. "I will continue my duty, my work with dedication and I am not afraid of anyone. I will verify every denunciation that comes to me from citizens, and I will publish it in the media. No one scares me with these mafia-like threats," concluded journalist Stafa.
