An unusual moment was recorded during Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's press conference in India, where he interrupted his speech after a journalist's phone started ringing in the hall.
Lavrov was in India on an official visit when a journalist answered the phone during a conference call and tried to speak softly, but his voice was heard in the room. At that moment, the Russian diplomat stopped the conference and addressed the journalist in English in a harsh tone:
“Listen, can you let us continue? I’m not kidding,” he said. Immediately afterwards, Lavrov addressed the security personnel with the words: “Guys, get him out of here!”
After a few seconds, the Russian minister added: “Sir, I’m sorry. If you don’t hand over the phone, they’ll pull out a gun, you know.” Lavrov’s comment was interpreted by those present as a joke, as laughter erupted in the hall. However, in the video footage circulating on social media, the Russian minister is not seen smiling during his statement, which has prompted numerous reactions and comments online.
