At least eight people have been killed and more than 60 injured after a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on two logistics centers in Russia. The attacks also caused a fire at an oil depot in the Moscow region, forcing authorities to evacuate a nearby maternity hospital.

Tambov region governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said seven night-shift workers were killed when a logistics center of Russian e-commerce company Wildberries in Kotovsk was hit by drones. He said 24 others were injured. Another attack hit a warehouse of the same company in Elektrostal, Moscow region. Governor Andrei Vorobyov said one person was killed and 37 others were injured.

Also in the Moscow region, an oil depot in Noginsk was engulfed in flames after the attack. Two people were injured, while a maternity hospital was evacuated for safety reasons. AFP journalists reported that a thick cloud of black smoke rose above the area, while dozens of fire engines were engaged in extinguishing the flames. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Russia faced a wave of more than 370 drones overnight. He said air defenses shot down most of them, including 64 drones approaching the capital.

On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the targets hit were two important supply centers in the Moscow and Tambov regions, which, according to him, were used for the production of drones and navigation equipment, using components imported despite sanctions. Meanwhile, Russian attacks in Ukraine also caused casualties on the other side of the border. Ukrainian authorities reported that one person was killed and 13 others were injured. In the Black Sea, a ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda was hit, leaving one dead and three injured. Also, according to Ukrainian authorities, several other people were injured in the Chernihiv and Kherson regions, as well as on board a ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands.
