An unusual flight by Thailand's Queen Suthida has caught the attention of social media. The 48-year-old queen made her first solo flight in a Swedish Saab JAS 39C Gripen fighter jet, staying in the air for 41 minutes.
The flight took place on Thursday, October 8, at Wing 7 air base, while her husband, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, closely watched the takeoff and landing of the plane.

According to the royal palace, Suthida has become the first female pilot of the Gripen fighter jet in Thailand.
After the successful landing, the king welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers and awarded him the honorary medal of the Gripen Order, which he placed on the left sleeve of his uniform.
Footage of the flight has been widely shared on social media, turning the event into one of the most talked-about moments of the Thai royal family.
