A real storm has hit San Lorenzo in Argentina, this time due to a scandal that has directly implicated the club's president, Marcelo Moretti. Moretti was filmed taking money from a footballer's mother so that the player could sign with the team.
The complaint was initially broadcast publicly by Canal 9, which published audio and images from a hidden camera recording the conversation between the Ciclón president and the player's mother, from whom he asked for $25 for the club to sign the player's first youth contract.
Although the mother tried to agree on a payment in two installments, Moretti was clear: "The sooner, the better..." The conversation ended with the words: "I'll give you 25 thousand, but sign the boy." The video was subsequently widely distributed.
