A scene that looks like it was taken from a science fiction movie took place in a ring, where influencer Frankie LaPenna faced off against a humanoid robot that resembled the character "Terminator."

The duel was organized by the American robotics company REK, as part of a new virtual reality concept where people control humanoid robots and face them in duels.

 

In the video released by the company, the 1.83-foot-tall robot entered the ring and prepared for the fight like a professional athlete. After the match began, LaPenna and the robot exchanged punches and kicks.

The influencer managed to hit the robot several times, while the latter's kicks pushed LaPenna to the other side of the cage on several occasions.

REK described the confrontation as "the first Man vs. Robot Terminator battle" and published its footage on social media, warning that other parts of the match would be published.

In a response to a comment, the company clarified that LaPenna ultimately managed to defeat the robot.

The showdown is presented as a demonstration of humanoid robot technology and an example of how these devices could be used in the future for entertainment and controlled competitions.
