The incident occurred in the eighth minute of the first half, when the player suddenly collapsed in the middle of the field, without any contact or collision with other players.

Players from both teams reacted immediately, urgently requesting the intervention of medical staff. While waiting for the ambulance, some players used their jerseys to cool the player, while others formed a prayer circle next to him.

Souza was immediately transported for medical attention, while the match was stopped for several minutes.

"The biggest fear is now over. I thank everyone for the messages and prayers. God works in ways that sometimes we don't understand. When I see the images, I understand that it is a miracle. The Flamengo players and my teammates united for a single goal. I am sure that I will return," the footballer wrote after recovering in hospital.
