A vehicle caught fire this afternoon on the Tirana-Elbasan road, moments after exiting the Krraba Tunnel.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the vehicle noticed the presence of flames and managed to get out of the vehicle in time, avoiding consequences for his life and health. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.
The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire vehicle, which was almost completely destroyed. Thick smoke rose in the area, while passersby and drivers of other vehicles immediately notified the emergency services.
Firefighters have arrived at the scene, working to bring the fire under control and completely extinguish it, as well as to avoid danger to vehicles circulating on this road segment.
A technical defect in the vehicle is suspected, but only further investigations will determine the exact cause of the incident.
Authorities are continuing to take action to fully document the case.
