New developments have emerged from the operation codenamed "The Last Fire", carried out by the structures of the Local Police Directorate in Korça, where a 38-year-old wanted man, suspected of ordering an arson attack that occurred two months ago in Pogradec, was arrested.
According to the police, the suspect is citizen EF, a resident of Korça, who was arrested on the basis of a warrant from the Prosecutor's Office for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire", committed in collaboration. He is suspected of having been the organizer of the burning of a vehicle on February 26, 2026 in the city of Pogradec.
His capture was made following information obtained through operational channels, as part of the investigations to fully unravel this incident, which had remained unsolved for several weeks.
During the search of the premises where the 38-year-old was located and arrested, the police also found a quantity of the suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, which was seized as material evidence.
Authorities say that investigations are continuing to fully document the circumstances of the arson and to identify other possible persons involved in the event.
