Another major Kiev bridge has been hit by Russian forces, adding to the pressure on the Ukrainian capital's transport infrastructure. The target of the attack on Saturday morning was the Pivnytsny Bridge, also known as the Northern Bridge, over the Dnieper River.
According to Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the attack damaged the road surface and tram cables, disrupting traffic between the eastern and western parts of the city.
Footage published online shows the moment of impact and the explosion on the bridge, while there were vehicles and pedestrians in the area.
What Russia is trying to do is to make the Ukrainian capital uninhabitable, paralyse it. (We are talking about a 3-million people city).
Ukraine follows the conventions and is not doing the same to Moscow. But there will be a turning point where even the EU will turn a blind eye to symmetric actions.— Pepel Klaasa (@pepel_klaasa) October 2, 2026
