An attempt to cultivate narcotic plants has been foiled in the early stages in the Shkodra district, while the Police have seized 2500 suspected Cannabis Sativa seedlings and arrested two people.
The operation codenamed "Boxes" was finalized by the Shkodër DVP, after following a van transporting seedlings from the village of Hajmel towards Vau i Dejës. During the search of the vehicle, the Police found several cardboard boxes with cubes where 2500 suspected narcotic seedlings had been planted. According to the investigations, the load is suspected to be used for the cultivation of cannabis.
At the end of the operation, SL, 23 years old, resident of Shkodra, and NP, 29 years old, resident of the village of Mali i Jushit, were arrested in flagrante delicto. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
