Russia appears to have a powerful new weapon in its hands. After the successful test of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, Vladimir Putin declared that it would be put into operational use by the end of the year, while saying that its range could exceed 35,000 kilometers.
In addition, the total power of the nuclear warhead that the Sarmat can carry is four times greater than similar systems, while its speed can exceed Mach 10, covering a distance of 12,000 kilometers per hour.

"Sarmat" as foreign media write is a new generation Russian intercontinental ballistic missile, designed to replace the Soviet R-36M2 Voevoda missile, known in NATO as Satan. It is also noted that it is designed to transport nuclear warheads over very long distances and is considered a key element of the Russian nuclear strategy.
