The fires that engulfed the area of ​​the villages of Kryezi and Zikularje, in the territory of Helmas, have been brought under control after a continuous intervention by firefighting forces.

Firefighters from Kavaja, Rrogozhina and Kamza have been working since yesterday to tackle the flames, while the operation continued throughout the night and until the early hours of the morning.

The fire engulfed areas with vegetation, while the work of the forces on the ground made it possible to isolate most of the fires.

During today, the situation appears calm. Most of the fires have been extinguished, while in some places only small fires remain active, which currently do not pose a danger. Firefighters continue to remain on the ground and are monitoring the area to avoid any possibility of reactivation of the flames. Authorities indicate that the situation remains under control.
