The firefighting forces of Kavaja, Rrogozhina, Peqin, Elbasan and Kamza have continued without interruption the operation to extinguish the fires that include the villages of Kryezi and Zikularje, in the Helmas area.

Yesterday, the flames spread to Gjinaj in Helmas, significantly hindering the intervention of firefighting teams. The difficult terrain, along with blocked roads, prevented vehicle access to some of the areas affected by the fire.

Despite the difficulties, thanks to the intervention of the firefighting forces, especially the teams from Kavaja and Rrogozhina, it was possible to isolate and extinguish some of the main fires.

The operation continued until the early hours of this morning. Currently, the fire has been almost completely extinguished, while in some areas only a few small fires remain, which do not pose a risk of spreading.

The situation in the area appears to be under control. Firefighters continue to monitor the area to prevent any possible reactivation of the flames.
