The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received official notification from the US regarding the continuation of the MCC compact.
“The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received the official notification from the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America, Christopher Landau, that the US Government has decided to continue with the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact in Kosovo, confirming the unwavering commitment of the US to support the economic development and energy security of our country.”
The presidency says this decision comes after Osmani addressed a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and after meeting with Deputy Secretary Landau in Washington.
"This decision of particular importance comes after the letter that President Osmani sent to the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as well as after the successful meeting of President Osmani with Deputy Secretary Landau, during her official visit to Washington, where the mutual benefits of this program were discussed in detail. Just a few days after this high-level meeting, the US administration gave the green light for the continuation of the Compact, while Deputy Secretary Landau played a key role in this decision-making."
"In discussions with the Trump Administration, the President emphasized that the MCC Compact not only increases the country's energy security, but also creates new opportunities for mutual investment and opens new avenues for American businesses in the Kosovo market. President Osmani expressed deep gratitude for the commitment of Deputy Secretary Landau, while emphasizing that:
"This moment represents a clear testament to President Trump's vision and his administration's commitment to strengthening alliances by fostering economic opportunity and mutual prosperity."
