European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has stated that the European Union will significantly increase the production of drones and modern weapons to strengthen military support for Ukraine.

In a telephone conversation with the new Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretsky, Von der Leyen emphasized that, based on the drone agreement, the industries of EU member states will rapidly produce modern military equipment in large quantities for the defense of Ukraine.

Through a post on the X platform, she announced that she had a conversation with the Ukrainian Prime Minister and underlined that close cooperation on reforms related to Ukraine's accession process to the European Union will continue.

Von der Leyen said that part of the discussions also included preparing for the winter season and protecting critical energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

"We also discussed winter preparations and critical energy infrastructure. You can count on our full support, including in your work to improve the management of the energy sector," the European Commission president said.
