Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the European integration process during a parliamentary session.

She stated that during the discussions there was a long debate on integration and the need for clearer information to the opposition and citizens. According to Tabaku, the government should have informed the opposition at the beginning of the session about the progress of the negotiations and the challenges that accompany this process.

The MP emphasized that integration is not only a technical process, but also a political one, so the public needs to know exactly what is being negotiated in Brussels and whether there are concrete obstacles to opening or closing chapters.

She raised specific questions, mentioning whether certain decisions, such as projects for yacht ports or issues related to the immunity of senior officials, could affect different chapters of the negotiations. In conclusion, Tabaku called for more transparency and continuous information, emphasizing that Albanian citizens have the right to know every detail related to the country's path towards the European Union.

"During the last session, we had a long debate about integration, about the transparency that should be there. I requested that at the beginning of the session you also inform the opposition about the integration process. We requested transparency. This process is political and Albanian citizens should know what is being negotiated today in Brussels, whether there are obstacles or not. They should know if the approval of yacht ports is an obstacle to chapter 5 or 27 or 14. Citizens should know if the non-voting of the immunity of the former deputy prime minister has become an obstacle to integration. Provide information and be transparent," she said.
