The General Director of the State Police, Director Madhor Skender Hita, conducted an analysis with the structures of the Saranda Police Commissariat, following the serious incident that occurred this morning, where a 44-year-old man was shot dead and a 73-year-old passerby was injured.
During the analysis, the Director General requested rapid and in-depth investigations, as well as a comprehensive scan of the operational situation, from the identification of the most acute conflicts to the smallest conflicts, the identification of persons with a precedent, as well as the criminal contingent that is in the area, but also the itinerant one.
He requested concrete results for documenting the serious criminal event that occurred today, but also for past events.
Hita: "Now that the tourist season is almost over, the focus of our work will be to intensify investigations to document criminal events, including those that occurred in previous years. An uncompromising crackdown on criminal groups operating in the city and the identification of any of their illegal activities. I will support you with human resources, by creating specialized structures for the investigation of serious crimes and against organized crime, but also with a logistical basis. The professional response and dedication of the current structures is important."
In connection with the incident, drone controls are also being carried out in various territories in the Saranda and Delvina areas, while the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its work to collect any evidence that will serve the investigation.
