Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is against the Serbian federation's decision to play the qualifying matches with England and Albania in Belgrade.
He criticized the FSS's choice, as the September 9 match against the English was originally scheduled to be played in Leskovac.
"The Football Federation and others cannot withstand even 5 minutes of pressure from the English Embassy or other parties, who demanded the match be held in Belgrade. After two days of pressure, they changed the stadium, even though it was decided to play in Leskovac. The people of Leskovac are no less valuable than those in Belgrade. In fact, I think that even though England will come, there will only be 300 fans in the Marakana stadium, because Belgrade will not care."
Vučić stressed that he had not responded to at least ten requests from embassies to change the city of the match.
Given that the match with the "Three Lions" was postponed, the federation decided to also play the October 11 challenge with Albania at Red Star Belgrade's "Rajko Mitić" stadium, with a capacity of around 52 seats.
In Leskovac they played against Andorra and will return again in the November match against Latvia.
