A funeral for Iranian security chief Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani, the head of the Basij paramilitary force, will be held in Tehran today, the Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported.
The ceremony, which will begin at 13:30 p.m. local time in Tehran's Enghelab Square, is also being held for the 84 sailors killed when the U.S. sank the Iranian warship Iris Dena with a torpedo on March 4.
Iran announced on Tuesday that both Larijani and Soleimani had been killed in Israeli airstrikes, with Iranian military chief Amir Hatami threatening "decisive" revenge following the deaths.
