A 24-year-old attempted to commit two different robberies yesterday evening, but failed in both.

Police have announced that they have arrested the perpetrator, who was hiding in the attic of his house.

The young man, just a few minutes after the failed attempt at the Albanian Post branch in the "Vasil Shanto" neighborhood, at around 19:15 entered a market in "Prek Cali" square, attempting to take a sum of money by force, but left without achieving his goal and after a conflict with the employee.

The first case occurred around 19:00 PM, when the same citizen entered the Albanian Post Office and attempted to forcefully obtain a sum of money, breaking the window of the counter as he left, but without success.

As a result of rapid investigative actions and uninterrupted pursuit, carried out by the Crime Investigation specialists of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Serious Crimes Sector, with the support of the "Eagle" special force and under the direction of the Shkodra Prosecution Office, within the framework of the police operation codenamed "Reaction", the citizen was identified and arrested:
MM, 24 years old, resident of the village of Guci e Re, who was hiding in the ceiling of his apartment to avoid the Police.

This citizen is suspected of having attempted to violently rob the Albanian Post branch yesterday evening, in the "Vasil Shanto" neighborhood, threatening with a cutting tool (knife).

While leaving, he broke the window of the counter and fled on a stolen bicycle.

Also, a few minutes later, he is suspected of having attempted again, again with the threat of a cutting tool (knife), to violently rob a market in the "Fahri Ramadani" neighborhood.

While leaving, in the "Skënderbeg" neighborhood, he is suspected of stealing another bicycle.

During the search of this citizen's apartment, the Police Services found and seized, as material evidence, the clothes he used during the commission of the criminal offense, as well as the stolen bicycles.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for the criminal offenses of "Robbery of banks and savings banks", which remained in the attempted stage, "Robbery with violence", "Theft" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".
