Today in the show studio with "With an Open Heart", with author and moderator Evis Ahmeti, a serious event that occurred a few days ago in the city of Vlora will be addressed, which has shocked public opinion and raised serious concerns about security and violence in the community.
A 42-year-old teacher with the initials EL has reported being brutally raped by her parents' neighbor in the Skela area.
According to her testimony, given on the show "With an Open Heart", the event happened suddenly, without any previous conflict between them.
According to her testimony, at around 13:00 PM, while heading towards her parents' apartment, she was confronted by a person dressed in black clothes and with a hood that partially covered his face.
He first attacked her with insulting words and then physically assaulted her, squeezing her tightly by the throat. Although she managed to escape and seek police help, the anxiety and fear did not end there.
According to her account, the aggressor followed her to her parents' apartment and raped her again. In an attempt to escape, she was shot in the hand, while the perpetrator took her phone and broke it, leaving her without any means of communication and without help.
"On the street I was passing, a gentleman had his hood pulled down to his nose. At first, I dodged to give him space to pass, but the gentleman continued in my direction, putting his hands on my throat very hard and also cursing. All this happened in front of the child. I stepped behind the bars, and I put my hand in my pocket to get my phone. The first thing that came to my mind was to call the police, but he shot my hand. And I have the footage, despite the fact that the police did not take it into consideration. I was so disoriented that I did not know what to do. My husband is at work in Vlora. We headed to my parents' apartment, because there was no other way. Luckily, there were two residents there who heard us saying that he was also threatening and did not want to know about the State Police. There I picked up the phone again because I wanted to have evidence. He saw that I was alone... He took the phone from my hand, and broke the phone that "I wouldn't be able to communicate with anyone," she confessed on the show "With an Open Heart."
A serious event that raises many questions: How is it possible for a woman to be raped in broad daylight, near her home? How safe are our streets and neighborhoods?
And what measures should be taken to prevent such cases?
Also during the interview, the 42-year-old raised another concern regarding the building's administrator, who according to residents is exorbitantly paid.
She also indicated that the aggressor was the husband of the building administrator.
"A good part of the residents of the building have been suffering for years from the self-proclaimed administrator for payments. For years, they have suffered large and unjustified payments. I realized that the aggressor was the administrator's husband when he took my phone. He took the phone and threw it in the direction of the warehouse so that I would not have evidence," she said.
