The Israeli Air Force has destroyed the plane of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei while it was parked at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport. The attack reportedly took place overnight.

The Israeli military further announced that the plane was used by Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials "to promote military supplies and manage relations with the Axis countries through domestic and international flights."

The military adds that the destruction of this "strategic asset" shows that it is a blow to Iran's "coordination capabilities" with groups that act as its representatives, building its military power and regime restoration capabilities.
