A serious incident occurred today in the village of Orizaj in the municipality of Berat.
15-year-old Fatjon Sadushi, who was working with his father in the field, entered the river to cool off and wash himself, but the current swept him several meters downstream. His father entered to save him, but pulled his son to the shore with no signs of life.
Police officers and an ambulance arrived at the scene, transporting the victim to the Berat Regional Hospital Morgue, where he will undergo a forensic autopsy.
The investigation team at the scene is continuing its work to fully clarify and document the circumstances of the incident, as well as to determine the cause of the drowning.
It is initially suspected that the 15-year-old accidentally drowned while bathing in the river.
