Erion Selmani commented on the protest and the role of civil society, considering it a healthy reaction, especially when it takes place peacefully.

Invited to News24, Selmani compared the protest to the immune system of an organism. "I see the protest of a civil society as the immune system of a body. For me, it is healthy, especially when it is peaceful. So far we have not had any pressure! I have to be correct!", said Selmani. He also touched on the participation of the diaspora in the protest, while tomorrow the diaspora is expected to come to Tirana, noting that some of the emigrants returned to Albania in September, while emphasizing that most of them, according to him, are not politically engaged.

"The diaspora, some of them did not come in August, to return in September. The vast majority of those who come from the diaspora are not engaged in politics," he said. According to Selmani, the impact of a protest is not measured only by the number of participants, but also by the message it conveys.

“The importance of the protest lies in the numbers, but also in the message,” he said. However, Selmani raised a question regarding the role of the diaspora in political and social developments in Albania. “I have a concern. We live here, Albania has its own citizens who live here. Why should a caravan from the diaspora come to tell us what to do?” Selmani said.
