The story of Xhuana Nikollaj, the young woman who ended her life by drinking fostoxin, while allegedly being raped by her ex-husband, was sad. The father of the 25-year-old from Lezha, in a sad story for the show 'With an Open Heart' on News24 of moderator and author Evis Ahmeti, claimed that he was unaware of the fact that his daughter was being raped by her ex-partner. Amidst deep grief, the girl's father said that Xhuana was married in June 2025 and separated in January by mutual consent.

He also claimed that the girl's last phone call was to her mother.

"We are dead, we are just breathing. She moved to Tirana 3 months ago. The other girl gave us the news, that she is in Tirana. She didn't tell us anything about the violence, we didn't know anything. She married Eraldo in June of last year. They divorced in January. They separated without complications, because they didn't get along. I am not able to speak, forgive us. Will she be revived?! We have left it to justice," he said.

MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE
Xhuana Nikollaj and Eraldo Fizi had married in June 2025 and had started their life together in Lezha. But their marriage lasted only three months, due to constant conflicts between the couple, which ended in divorce. After the separation, the 25-year-old moved to Tirana to live with her sisters. Police sources indicate that on March 9, the day before the tragic event, her ex-husband had returned from abroad and had gone to her apartment in Tirana. It is suspected that there was another confrontation between them, during which the young man may have raped her. A preliminary examination of the body found signs of violence on the head, face and one arm, while the forensic expert's response is awaited to determine the official cause of death. Meanwhile, the police have announced a search for Eraldo Fizi, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Domestic Violence" and "Inducing Suicide". Investigators are also working to discover how the 25-year-old managed to obtain phostoxin, a dangerous substance banned for uncontrolled use.
