The green crown of the city of Puka was seriously endangered this Tuesday morning, after a fire engulfed part of the forested area.

Initial suspicions are that the fire may have been intentionally caused, while the Puka fire services immediately intervened in the face of the flames, assisted by residents of the Laçaj neighborhood.

Rapid intervention made it possible to bring the flames under control, avoiding their spread and reaching larger proportions.

The Puka Crown, characterized mainly by pine trees, is considered one of the city's most precious natural assets. For years, residents have contributed to protecting this area from fires.

This is the first time in many years that a fire has seriously threatened this green space, which extends over hundreds of hectares around the city of Puka.

Meanwhile, the Police have set up an investigation group to clarify the causes of the fire and to verify suspicions of possible deliberate arson.
