The situation of the fire in the village of Lufaj continues to be problematic, while the hearth has spread to the territory of the Municipality of Mat, in the area known as "Qafa e Sharrit".
According to information on the situation, the perimeter of the fire extends from "Qafa e Sharrit" to the Vali Cave, in a forest area composed mainly of oaks and shrubs, such as elm, sycamore, sedge and other vegetation.
The difficult terrain is favoring the spread of the flames and making it difficult for ground forces to intervene. Most of the area is rocky, which does not allow for the opening of corridors to isolate the burning material and create protective belts.
The perimeter of the fire is estimated to be around 5-6 kilometers and, due to the rugged terrain, isolation and complete extinguishing of the flames are considered possible mainly through aerial intervention.
Currently, the outbreak is advancing towards the village of Koder-Laç and the Gjestila Neighborhood, in the village of Bruç, part of the Rukaj Administrative Unit, in the Municipality of Mat.
The spread of the fire in this direction has increased concern for residential areas, while monitoring of the situation and the need for specialized air intervention to curb the advance of the flames continue.
