A Dutch tourist and his two minor children were rescued yesterday evening after they became trapped in a difficult area of the Gjipe Canyons, in Dhërmi.
According to the Police, after receiving notification of the situation, a search and rescue operation was launched by the services of the Dhërmi Police Station, in cooperation with the "Delta Force" Special Unit.
The operation lasted about 4 hours and took place in difficult conditions due to the steep terrain and darkness. Rescue forces managed to locate the tourist and the two children, extracting them from the area without injuries.
After evacuation, they received first medical aid and were found to be in good health.
The Dutch tourist thanked the intervention teams for the assistance provided, stating that the area where they were trapped was particularly dangerous at night.

The services of the Dhërmi Police Station, in cooperation with the "Delta Force" Special Unit, yesterday evening successfully completed the search and rescue operation for a Dutch tourist and his two minor children, who had remained trapped in a steep area of the Gjipe Canyons.
Immediately after receiving the notification from the Dutch citizen that he had been trapped with his two children, a search and rescue operation was organized. After about 4 hours of intensive search, in conditions of darkness and in extremely difficult terrain, the Police services made it possible to locate and evacuate them safely.
After being removed from the dangerous area, the tourist and his two children received first medical aid and were found to be in good health.
The Dutch tourist thanked the State Police services for the professionalism and dedication shown during the operation, stating:
"I want to tell everyone that tonight we are extremely grateful to the local Police, who rescued us from the place where we were trapped. It was a very dangerous area, especially at night. These three officers are heroes."
