The 43-year-old Albanian, Nikolin Pali, arrested on November 5 in the Kato Patision area of Athens, has confessed to Greek authorities that he committed two other murders in Albania, before 2002. He was wanted for the double murder that occurred in Loutraki, Greece, in 2020, where two women were executed with an axe.

According to Greek media, he is suspected of having committed the two murders in Albania and then fled to Greece to avoid arrest. Albanian authorities had issued an Interpol red notice against him, but for another criminal case, that of attempted armed robbery in collaboration.

The arrest was made following an operation organized in an apartment in Kato Patisia, where the Greek police intervened with the help of the special anti-terrorism unit EKAM. During the search in the apartment, a silver-colored pistol with a wooden handle, two functional grenades, two detonators and three pairs of metal handcuffs were found.

Another detail that emerged during the investigation is that the 43-year-old was living using the identity of another person. Another person's residence permit, which had his photo on it, was also found in the apartment. A 41-year-old foreign woman was also arrested with him, accused of harboring a wanted person and violating the legislation on foreigners.

Greek authorities are also investigating whether the Albanian was preparing a new attack and whether he had links to people involved in the Greek mafia. Investigators are verifying his activity over the past six years, to discover whether he could be linked to other murders that occurred in Greece.

The incident for which the 43-year-old was arrested took place on October 11, 2020, in the Flambouro area of the Loutraki-Agioi Theodoroi municipality. The victims were a 43-year-old woman of Ukrainian origin, the former partner of the suspected perpetrator, and her new partner, a 42-year-old pharmacist.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator had surprised the two women and hit them several times in the head with an axe, leaving them no chance to react. After the crime, he had fled in the vehicle of one of the victims and then set it on fire, in an attempt to cover his tracks.
