A serious incident is reported in the village of Akërni, where a 70-year-old woman is suspected of being raped and robbed in her apartment.
According to the police, the incident occurred on September 26. A 43-year-old man from the village of Akërni with the initials F. Y, who lived in the same building as the elderly woman, is suspected of knocking on her door and, after she opened it, hitting her in the head with an axe.
The 70-year-old woman was left unconscious, while the 43-year-old man is suspected of having searched the apartment and taken around 700 thousand old lek that were there.
Police also suspect that, before leaving the apartment, the 43-year-old also had forcible sexual intercourse with the 70-year-old.
After reporting the incident, the police questioned the elderly woman and seized the axe with which the attack was allegedly carried out as evidence.
43-year-old F. Y. has been declared wanted, while investigations continue to fully document the incident. According to police sources, he is also suspected of being a drug user.
