A young man, a participant in today's protest, has ironized Prime Minister Edi Rama's warnings about fining protesters and measures against travel. In a statement to News24, for journalist Osman Stafa, he used a joke about the train to Durrës, and then confessed about the violence against protesters and the reasons that brought him out on the streets.
"I have a question: what time does the train to Durrës leave? We want two tickets. We are waiting for the train to Durrës and it is not coming! They have maimed us. They have broken their legs, they do not know where they are. They have broken their ribs. The girls have touched them, they have kissed them in the vans.
We have come out for Albania. A student who fights, fights for the school, for the future. Until this age that I am, I have never lived, I have only survived. Parents without work, we are not servile. Let's come out for those people who have been killed, raped. There are people who are in prison for us. Let's come out for Albania once, like our ancestors. Don't leave us aside, let's come out against those who are not Albanian, because they are selling us out. For 50 thousand lek?! Take out some lek! My intention is that, if nothing is done, I will leave school and leave. Most of my family is abroad, I have no support here", the young man said.
